Captain Freedom who campaigned on closing Gitmo and signed an executive order first thing after he got into office is now arguing that suspending the NDAA's indefinite detention provision does the US irrparable harm. Well, that makes sense. Gitmo was never closed, so this all just follows a logical track. If you recall, the National Defense Authorization Act allows the authorities to hold or detain an individual without charges if they're charged with terrorism. All things that are shiny aren't always made of Gold?
Markets rocket upwards in light of QE 3.0. As well they should it's a huge gift for the markets. The open ended nature of QE 3.0 gives the government a lot of leeway in the creation of money. The fed needs inflation to combat the slow down. They're still not seeing inflation, they're combating an ugly case of deflation.
Yesterday alone, we had 6 embassies attacked around the world. Several days ago the United States' US Embassador was killed. The first US embassador killed since 1979. Middle East foreign policy is clearly working. We went from having Egypt as a staunch ally, to well..... not so much so. The Arab spring has turned into the Arab Winter.

Rising Gasoline prices are starting to affect the American economy. I know it will affect our Christmans spending and other purchases going forward. In our neck of the woods, we're right at $4.00/gallon for 87.
